I don’t do “Resolutions”…

Last year I managed to do everything I half-heartedly resolved to do on my list of “2011 plans” (‘cause I don’t do “resolutions”). Most notably painting my nails more often. So I’m trying it again this year.

1) Find a new job
2) Exercise more
3) Reach out to people more often

I’ll start small and add to the list if and as needed.

2011 taught me a lot about my self. It brought a lot of challenges but also a lot of triumph. I touched Childish Gambino and spoke to Donald Glover (bananas!). I have so much more growing to do but I know this past year was an important one.

Every New Years should be so comedically zany…

I’m not a seasoned music critic beyond being a mega-fan at times. So I will just say I like so many things about Camp. #1 posibly being the Living Single Kim Coles reference.

Let’s talk instead about the video.

Blood and nooses weird me out. But on the plus side, the shorts and socks combo is working overtime. And the scene where he runs at full arm flail is magical. I know this next statement eats understatements for breakfast, but, I like that he’s doing something different. Gambino might have mentioned once or twice before that he is different (a mild application of internet sarcasm). But I like this video suggests that he might actually show us how different he’s going to be. It gets me really excited for the level of artistry he may be able to reach in future videos, with him being so versatile.

I just wish Camp would’ve been this fun for all the years I went to one or worked at one.
